Computational social and affective neuroscience is an emerging interdisciplinary research field, which utilizes computational tools to understand neural mechanisms underlying complex psychological processes. In this talk, I will present several published and ongoing works from my lab to demonstrate how this approach could advance our understanding of different psychological processes. Through these examples, I hope to show how taking a computational social and affective neuroscience approach, combining methods from psychology, neuroscience, affective science, and computer science, can facilitate a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of psychological processes that shape our everyday experiences.
